Le gala Wood and Wine
A sumptuous gala dinner will be held on September 13 at Château Giscours, a characterful site rich in history.
« Grand cru classé » from the Margaux appellation in 1855, Château Giscours is located at the heart of 160 hectares of vines and a natural reserve featuring centenary trees, prairies and ponds. In the 14th century, the castle was nothing more than a defensive dungeon overlooking some wild and inhospitable country land. In 1552, a rich Bordeau draper purchased the noble house from Guyscoutz and built a vast domain around it, planting the very first vines.
The winemaking adventure had started, and the draper’s successors managed to bring their expertise to this stunning building. In the 19th century, Giscours put on its finery: the castle was transformed in a neoclassical palace, a park was built by landscaper for rare species, production tools were modernized with huge buildings, including the famous Ferme Suzanne where we have the pleasure to welcome you for the evening.
The castle is located 30 minutes away from Bordeaux, along the mythical Médoc castle route. Bus transportation will be provided to and from the Palais des congrès.
